![]() Our
2010 season of Maine Moose
Tours is coming to an end.
I would like to thank each and every one of you who came to us for
moose tours this year, making it one of our best years yet! Last
weekend's moosesightings were absolutely
wonderful... the moose were in mating season, and both Friday and Saturday mornings brought out "bunches" of moose!! We have lots of great photos &videos to put on here (need to get a new program for that as mine has given out). Look for all new photos by October 20-23. ![]() While on tour we travel Maine's scenic countryside through quaint New England towns, sometimes into the mountains, or past potatoe fields, lakes, waterfalls, and woodlands. The success rate of our moose sightings has been very good, resulting in our passengers being able to watch and photograph moose in the wild, many times from only 50 feet away! Our tours are always fun-filled adventures. If we don't have a moose sighting we'll take you out again free! Our van carries up to seven passengers in air conditioned comfort with plenty of leg room, plus there is a large cargo space in back for extra camera equipment, jackets, & lunches. Please check our maine moose tour page for more information on tour, travel times & prices. |
Mooseland Tours' 2010
Moose Sighting Count is 197! ![]() July 17, 2010 We had watched seven moose come and go from the bog, and were about to leave when we spotted coyote pups.... ![]() "Two
Day Old Baby Loons
Safe On Mother's Back." Taken 7/10/10 on Five KezarPonds by Lynda Thayer. (click photo to see larger image) ![]() June
27, 2010, was a six moose morning! First we spotted a cow moose in a
small but beautiful boggy area and were only able to get a fleeting
image (that means blurry) of her at she retreated to the woods.
A few minutes later we found ourselves at a larger bog
looking at another, but calmer cow moose that stayed around for almost
a half hour while we snapped picture after picture.
We decided to make a fast trip to a nearby store for breakfast snacks and on our return to the bog a large cow moose bolted across the road in front of us! Often when we leave and return we find more moose or different moose in the bog and that was the case this morning! There in the middle of the bog was a large, dark (and apparently charismatic) bull moose. I had taken a multitude of photos when I noticed something besides us had his attention. I wasn't surprised when a cow moose came running in from across the road, but was delitefully surprised when we saw there was a newborn calf running nimbly along right behind her! The cow ran beyond and past the bull heading towards us, calling her calf as she came, but the calf had other ideas. Read more abt this baby moose. |
